Lembongan Island
Lembongan is a small island located in the south-east region of Bali, which is overshadowed by the adjacent neighboring island of Nusa Penida. Lembongan is unique for its remarkably quiet beaches. Most visitors stay in the small and charming bungalows that are within walking distance of the beach. It is a favorite spot for surfers, who enjoy the three surf breaks located just past the reefs. The three breaks are "Playground", an easy left hander, "Lacerations", a fast right-hander which breaks over shallow coral, and "Shipwreck", a right-hander which takes its name from a wreck that can be seen from shore.
There is also good snorkeling and diving here, but you should charter a local boat because the best spots are quite a way from shore. The local people can tell you which spots attract the best fish. Lembongan is also home to a curiosity - a legendary "underground" house. It is a series of tunnels hand-carved by one man ages ago. Local boys will lead you through the passages, rooms and chambers of this enigmatic labyrinth.
