Bedugul Area
Bedugal, located in the cool central hills, tempts travelers with its temples, lakes and spectacular mountain scenery. The most beautiful of these temples is Candi Kuning-Pura Danu Bratan, which is surrounded by a picturesque and well-tended garden on the shores of Lake Bratan. The landscaping in the outer grounds area is a model of stately charm. While entrance to the innermost temples is forbidden to tourists, you are welcome to peer over the low wall. The tallest of these temples is in honor of the goddess who guards the lake.
Also in the immediate area is the Bali Handara Kosaido Country Club, which is recognized as one of the top fifty golf courses in the world. Just a little to the north you will find Kebun Raya, a botanical garden of more than 325 acres where dozens of varieties of wild orchids can be found. The cool, temperate climate of Bedugal region is a welcome change from heat of the south - you may end up spending more time here than you originally planned!
